So long and Farewell
To our loyal food loving listeners-
We have loved chatting with you every Saturday for the past 5+ years but unfortunately we must bid you adieu as our show has been cancelled. We are going to miss each and every one of you and your passion for cooking, dining and all things food-related. We hope to see you at the restaurants, and keep an eye out on www.tomdouglas.com and www.rovers-seattle.com for a possible new show as well as upcoming events.

UH, Where's Thierry?
Thierry is out of the studio today, cooking up a storm for Garfield High School! What a lucky group of 450!
So, Tom is left to man the radio waves by his lonesome- however, he'll have plenty of friends to talk to over the phone to keep him company.
He'll let the ladies go first today: Amy Pennington will be chatting live from the gardens while she plants the tender leaf, mache. After that, we'll go straight over to producer Katie O who will be coming to us from the Pike Place Market's Ghost Tour. Spooky.
During the second hour of the show, Tom will chat with Big Ken of Big Al Brewing Company about Irish Reds and Blacks in preparation for St. Patty's Day this week. And the boozy fun doesn't stop there, because Tom will also talk with our weekly wine contributor, Mike Teer of Pike and Western Wine Shop. They'll discuss a fantastic French wine that pairs nicely with fondue.
All this, PLUS delicious/not delicious: Irish Cheese Edition, AND trivia with great prizes- including pairs of tickets to this year's Taste Washington.

Is that Tom's voice??
Tom is out of town in the Big Apple! So what does that mean for "In the Kitchen" this week? Well, I'll tell you dear listeners...
It means that Tom has brought in a substitute co-host for Thierry. Producer Katie O will be sitting in with Thierry this week to bring you a fun-filled 3 hours of shenanigans.
The duo will be chatting with our weekly Urban Pantry gal Amy Pennington about the multi-faceted, wonderful world of ROLLED OATS! The guy on the cylindrical Quaker Oatmeal box would be proud.
Mike Teer will bring us one of the most exciting pieces of wine news this year: The first rose release of the season! Tune in to hear about this favorite pink drink.
Also, hot of the heels of Tom's event Baconopolis, we'll be doing a delicious/not delicious bacon edition! Discerning palates will tell you if in fact, all bacon is as delicious as we surmise it to be.
And coming to us live from the streets of Seattle- Pamela Hinckley with the beat report. Since Katie O will be in studio, we're sending Pam out to drink on the town on Katie's behalf.
All of this craziness PLUS the trivia and giveaways (which includes a menu tasting for Thierry's new place, Luc AND tickets to this year's Taste Washington Event!)

Mike Teer of Pike and Western Wine Shop will also be on to share with you listeners another screaming deal on a dang good wine!
And of course, producer Katie O will be out on the streets- this time stopping at The Night School at the Sorrento Hotel. She'll be drinking (again). This time it's cognac!

And, beyond those 3 reasons to party down this weekend- it's Mardi Gras and that's what we'll be celebrating on the show. No need to take your top off because we're not throwing any beads. Instead, start working on your roux and tune in to our NOLA fun-filled program.
Of course we'll check in with last week's substitute co-host, Amy Pennington for our Urban Pantry Report. And she'll be talking about orange flower water. Why? Well, tune in and she'll tell you how it all ties into our theme!

Special Guest Host: Amy Pennington!
This week Tom is out of the kitchen and at the Evening of Hope Gala donning some fancy duds with his wife Jackie Cross as the honorees of this year's event, benefitting the Pike Place Market Foundation. What this means to you, dear listener, is that he will not be on the airwaves...
However! Amy Pennington, our weekly contributor will be on the program to hang out with Thierry and talk food. She'll bring a woman's touch to the show with all of her wise cracks and food know-how. Beyond talking to the guys every week about her various pantry staples, Amy has been in the food business for a LONG time and has wealth of knowledge to bestow on Saturday's show.
Amy and Thierry will talk with Andrea Nguyen, author of "Asian Dumplings" about her love of this delicious little pouches! Andrea will share with us a few recipes along with her inspirations for these delights.
